CHARACTER HISTORY:
Lucia is a fourth generation Rivelatan. Her ancestors arrived in Rivelata from 19th century Italy. Her living relations are her mother, Isabella, her aunt, Susanna, and her younger brother Arturo. She is very close to her family, and since her father’s death she has worked very hard to help support them.

Lucia's mother, Isabella, was a midwife, and as a child Lucia often assisted her. When Lucia was 13, her father died of cancer, and she decided to become a doctor. She worked with her mother and with other local healers, learning as much as she could about medicine. After her mother became ill and was forced to retire, Lucia took over her position. When Peter Petrelli opened the Clinic, she joined as a nurse so that she could learn more, and she eventually became a doctor.

CHARACTER PERSONALITY:
Lucia is rather reserved around most people, but she comes across as very efficient and professional. To those she knows and trusts, she can be very playful. She is usually very calm and doesn’t lose her temper easily, but she is very intense when she is angered. Having spent so much time around the sick and dying, she occasionally displays a slightly cynical sense of humour. She is also very stubborn, and does not like to be wrong.

After losing her father, she became fiercely protective of her family, and she works very hard to support them. She is very loyal and supportive to all who she considers her friends, and will help them through any trouble. However, if she feels that someone she trusts has betrayed her, she will withdraw from them completely and may fully never trust them again.

CHARACTER ROLE:
Now that Peter Petrelli and the other workers at the Clinic have disappeared, Lucia wishes to take over the Clinic with Ayako Matsuzaki. Having been in Rivelata longer, she is more familiar with the native remedies and methods of treatment than Ayako. She also hopes that this will allow her to gain a better position in Rivelata, which will allow her to take better care of her family.

Having worked as a healer in Rivelata for so long, she also knows more of the local dangers, and would be able to answer questions from the arrivals, or alert the population of the treatment in the event of an epidemic.
